Biodiesel tested in the Paris public transport system (RATP)

Given the extent to which transport is responsible for greenhouse gas emissions, the RATP (Paris) decided to promote public transport which consumes 4.6 times less fuel than a personal car. Motorway speed control measures lead to improved air quality in Rotterdam

800px-Rotterdam_Overschie_A13_jpg.jpg Rotterdam’s suburb Overschie suffered from pollution of the motorway A13, to improve air quality the speed limit on the motorway got reduced from 120 kph to 80 kph. The compliance with this speed limit is guaranteed through an automatic speed control system. Due to the measure the air quality improved (Pm10: -30%, NOX: -20%, CO2: -15%), traffic flows more homogenous and the number of accidents decreased by 60 %. more...
