  • Electric urban Public Transport in Craiova Municipality     28-11-2009
    RAT Craiova, is the URTP demonstrator in RECODRIVE project with European financing. This project is applying measures to reduce fuel consumption in its bus fleet and is concerned with energy savings within its Public Transport system by trams.

  • LPG boats and CNG buses in Venice     12-11-2009
    The targets of the program were to increase the number of clean energy efficient vehicles that run with natural gas in the public transport bus fleet, and to introduce the deployment of LPG in the fleet of pleasure crafts used by private citizens in Venice historical city centre and surrounding lagoon. Until now the following targets have been achieved: 1. CNG buses: A reduction in emissions from the ACTV bus fleet LPG boats: 1. Ten LPG demonstration pilot boats circulating in the lagoon.


  • La Spezia, bioethanol buses     12-11-2009 (16-11-2009)
    The main activity was the operation of ethanol-fuelled buses. Part of the project is furthermore the development of a draft on a standard for ethanol bus engines based on the gathered experiences. So far the project has the following results: 3 buses in La Spezia, running since beginning of 2007 and one filling station.

    Develop and demonstration of the use of CNG/hydrogen mixtures as fuel in CNG buses.


  • Renova- World’s 1st hybrid electric refuse collection truck in Göteborg/Sweden     22-10-2009
    In order to meet the Euro 5 standard, a vehicle for refuse collection has been developed by Volvo, Renova, Norba and the Energy Authority.


  • Complete replacement of diesel bus fleet by CNG busses in Frankfurt Oder (Germany)     20-10-2009
    The local public transport company of Frankfurt Oder (SVF) replaced their whole bus fleet by CNG busses in 2002/03. The foundation for this conversion was the non-interest-bearing credit by the bank for rebuilding (KfW) by winning the competition of the federal ministry of environment “ambitious environmental standards for public transport“.


  • Electric vehicle rental system for tourists in Carinthia (Austria)     13-10-2009 (22-10-2009)
    Alternative fuel vehicles in tourism arouse increasing interest, but the realization of the implementations is dragging. The tourism association of Velden decided to actively take up the matter and fulfil the wish of tourists for traffic calming. Therefore an electric vehicle rental system for the market town of Velden has been set up and will be expanded over the popular tourist region of the lake Wörthersee.


  • CNG - high time for cheap refuelling (South-Eastern Poland)     02-10-2009
    The gas company in southern Poland promoted CNG as fuel for motor vehicles by subsidy to fuel conversion from fossil motor fuel to CNG in the existing cars and to new cars using CNG.
